I think we all know or have known a "Cocaine Annie." It saddens me. I've met some beautiful spirits that don't even know just how beautiful they are. It's a dreadful disease. A blatant call for help and no one in this society knows how to help. I like starting conversations like this to get myself and everyone around me thinking "How can we help them." This goes with a grain of salt for some sad souls. Some are so lost there is nothing anyone can do. And that's the tragedy that makes poetry. Ironic. I hope it opens the door to all the difficult conversations no one really likes to have with that Cocaine Annie we all know.
Sadly, I've seen a few Cocaine Annie's in my life. Tragic how they live under that black sky. An awesome piece, Kendra.
